Article: Thank You, Coach Brett Noel
Thank You, Coach Brett Noel
Meet Coach Brett Noel
Before there was a DadGum Paddle, there was Brett, patiently talking me through my terrible dinks and worse serves. Friends, I'll be honest with you — I was not a natural. Brett will tell you the same thing, and he'll probably laugh while he does it.
He Didn't Just Teach Me the Game. He Got Me Hooked.
Brett didn't just show me where to stand and how to hit a drop shot. He showed me why people fall in love with this sport in the first place. The rallies. The chatter between points. The way a court full of strangers turns into a court full of friends by the end of an afternoon.
That's the part that stuck with me. Not the score. The people.
From the Court to the Workbench
Somewhere between Brett fixing my grip for the tenth time and me actually starting to enjoy myself, an idea started forming. If this game could pull a guy like me off the sideline and onto a court with real people, a better paddle in more hands could do that for a lot of other folks, too.
Brett taught me the game, and without that first lesson, there's no DadGum Paddles. It's that simple.
A Word of Thanks
So, Brett — thank you. For your patience with my footwork and for inspiring a paddle that ended up changing the direction of my life. That's not something I take lightly, and it's not something I'll stop being grateful for.
We're proud to have Brett's coaching and expertise as part of the Dadgum family now, sharing the tips and lessons that got me started. Consider this the first of many.
Put Down Your Phone, Pick Up a Paddle
Friends, if you've got a Brett in your life — someone who got you off the sideline and onto the court — go tell them thank you. And if you don't have one yet, well, that's what we're here for.
Grab a paddle and grab a friend and go play. That's the Dadgum way.
